Bars range from sophisticated cocktail lounges to informal traditional British and Irish pubs and western style saloons. There is a heavy British influence in the area and all sorts of music is available from piano and to your typical MTV background music. There are lots of clubs and discos that host both local DJs and big international names as well as local nightclubs with Arab singers, belly dancers and musicians. World famous groups and individual stars from the West, the Arab world, the Indian subcontinent and the Far East are frequent visitors. If bars and clubs are not your scene there are plenty of beach clubs and hotels available, the most famous being Jumeirah Beach Club and Burj Al Arab Hotel. The latter may well require a large mortgage to buy a drink!!!!!!
